Is it safe go buy a Maltese?

Hey everyone I have an important question so please answer. I currently have 2 large dogs. 1 is around 80 pounds and the other around 100. I was wondering if it's safe to add a baby Maltese to the mix. I fell in love with a gorgeous baby girl that will be about 4 pounds full grown. If you're going to ask how my dogs will be I only partially know which us why I'm asking. The larger dog is completely fine with small animals and other dogs. I also have a cat and a rabbit and he doesn't bother with them. He even sleeps with the cat. The smaller of the 2 I'm not sure about. He HATES the rabbit. He's not allowed in my room because he wanted to attack the rabbit so bad he broke thecae to get to it. He occasionally chases the cat but for the most part leaves them alone. He's younger (only 8 months) and he didn't grow up with the cats like Bauer did so I think that might have something to do with it. Both are well socialized with other dogs but Taz is more assertive/dominant than Bauer and he like to constantly challenge Bauer for "top dog" but never hesitates to submit to us for pack leader. I have always loved small dogs but when my morkie passed away my dad wanted big dogs and I love them both to death i just miss spoiling a little baby and neither of my dogs fit in dog clothes :P do you think it's safe to add a Maltese to the mix???
